Second Verse?

EDIT: I am a BOOR! I forgot to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the TV recs. I am MOST interested in Eureka! and I signed up for it on my netflix, but ALAS, there is a long wait for it. YERG! I have Q'd up MANY of your suggestions and will watch whatever comes first as I paddlepaddlepaddle. Ya'll rock.

I am BACK from the Dahlonega lit fest, which never QUITE made it onto my WOEFULLY out of date appearances page. I AM GOING TO UPDATE THAT PAGE TODAY! I really am. See how it is all caps? That is how you know I mean it. A whole sentence in ALL CAPS is the FTK equivalent of a Scarlet O’Hara, God, witness, radish, puke moment: I AM AM AM GOING TO UPDATE THAT PAGE TODAY. And not play in Little Green Patch on facebook. *nod nod*

HEY! Remember 3,000 years ago when I asked everyone to send in a NOTE if they wanted to sign up for my mailing list that was hypothetically going to send out ALERTS when I had a new book out and tell people the stops on my tour? I planned to have GRAPHICS and COVER SHOTS and in-jokes and fanciness.

SO I put a SIGN UP FOR THE MAILING LIST TO WIN FREE BOOKS AND SUCHLIKE thing up on the BLOG and alla ya’ll signed up, and then we had the drawing and sent out the prizes and remember how I then never learned how to create a mailing list? Or even properly saved all those addresses? Remember the good times we had when I never once sent out a newsletter or even a note to say BETWEEN, GEORGIA and then THE GIRL WHO STOPPED SWIMMING had been released? Remember THAT? Wasn’t that SO super fun?

Let’s do it again!

Welcome to AUGUST, better known among The Cool Kids as SIGN UP FOR THE MAILING LIST AGAIN month. You can sign up AFTER August, of course, but if you DO, you will miss the PRIZES. ALAS! What prizes, you say? OH I have several, and hope to collect more as August progresses. My prizes, let me show you them…tomorrow. I have to go fix the appearances page right now, remember?

If you are fence sitting about this, do not worry. I am not going to be a pestilence. I am not going to sell your address to the Cialis people. (They prolly have it already ANYWAY.) You can expect EITHER 1 or 2 e-mails a year from me, or for me to get distracted half-way through and never have a mailing list.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat, I’m Henry the 8th I am, I am, so SECOND VERSE! SAME AS THE FIRST! Except THIS time, instead of “asking everyone to sign up and then never doing it and losing the file with the email addies in it” my plan is “ask everyone to sign up and then hand the whole project to Scott.” Which means it is as good as done.

Shoot an e-mail to this address to sign up, and this also automatically registers you for the SECRET PRIZES that I shall show as August unfolds....)

Too funny - I was logging on to suggest In Plain Sight since we share so much in tv taste (my mother would insist that was an oxymoron) when I see that you have started a whole new post. I can't watch tv when I walk - my balance goes severely to the left if I try) so I listen to books on my iPod. I love your voice and the voices you give to the characters! Although it was rather difficult to keep up my pace while sobbing when Fisher was lost! I made quite the sight - my 11 year old son kept asking me if I was ok.

I am looking forward to the SECRET PRIZES and since I am new to the site my hope springs untarnished!

Hee, I actually kind of like not being bugged too often, and getting a chance at "secret prizes". Whatever they may be. It could be a snip of Bagel's fur for all I know, but it would be cool to be able to say a famous-type author gave me something, so I have signed up!

Of course I signed up! I sort of hope the prize isn't Bagel's fur-clippings, though. I'm hoping for pink socks!

You do not need to apologise to me, since I promised you a story a day until your rooms started cooperating, then lost teh internets in a major storm in which lightning struck our pool frame. To clariy, this was the _first_ lightning storm, and the strike was on the leading edge of the storm, and it made our teeth hurt and our chest feel like we'd been punched and our telephones and other electronic equipment smell like smoke. Yes, they were on surge protectors, and no, apparently, when you have _THAT MUCH_ surge, they really don't do all that much.
The second storm, which made NPR, saw me and the caboose huddled in the basement, with the dog milling around us frantically and the cat pacing with here eyes full black.
I shall gladly sign up for the mailing list, but if the gift _is_ Bagel's fur, I will decline, since I still haven't vaccuumed up the dog fur wildly shed during the storm...

Um, nope, I don't remember any of that. So I'm kinda glad it didn't work out the first time, because if it had, then I would've missed my chance!

Television recs - Wonderfalls. They only made one season but a glorious, not to be missed season it is - sort of like Firefly is worth the one season (and a movie), in that it's all about the witty characters, but without all the vast reaches of space part. There is however, referencing another post, a waterfall. A big one. Netflix it!
