Sugar Pirate

Today the kitten came out of the bedroom. It's kitty integration day, and the air is thick with stress-shed hairs and silent tension.

I am not sure Schubert knows this little thing is another CAT. For now Boggart still has four limbs, one tail, and one head. All attached. In other words, it's already going better than I might have hoped.

All right, people, let the wagers begin! I got ten bucks on Schubert...

SO MUCH LOVE for that picture. It somehow captures the massive potential energy.

If you get a chance, check out the picture in this post of my cat of 8 years meeting the interloper: http://live-learn-knit.blogspot.com/2007/08/meet-mo.html
Five days later it's only slightly better. Good luck with Schubert and Boggart. I hope Schubert takes him under his paw and shows him the ropes of Chez Jackson.

Hey, they are nose to nose...that's a good sign! And Shubert's tail is at half mass, another good sign.

You might just be surprised by these two.

I'm seeing promise. Wait, before you know it Boggart will be wearing an eye patch and faithfully dogging Shubert.

Progress is being made. Shubert's tail being at half mast is good! :)

Do you know, I looked at this pic and thought OMG she really did make off with Fritz!

Here's hoping that Schubert remains in blissful ignorance of Boggart's catitude. :-)

Oh, what a precious photo! We came home with a new cat last year and it took more than a month of separation and s-l-o-w, gradual introduction before we were able to leave tour two alone in the same room together. I'm jealous of the speed of your introduction! (Of course, both of our kitties were adults, and the one we've had for eight years is a brat and a half, so that has something to do with our timeline!)

It's been so many years since I've had a kitten - thank you for sharing Boggart with us. :)

Amy-go, I see your ten bucks and raise you ten that by the end of next week, Schubert and Boggart will be snuggled up, best of friends. I also predict, for a free bonus no wager, that Schubert will discover a new zest for life, such as pouncing and jumping.

Oh how cute! Look at how earnest the Boggart is!

Joss, have you seen this site:

Something tells me that a) you'd love it and b) you might have a photo to contribute.

Here's looking at you, kid!

If Schubert does knock an eye out of Boggart then hopefully it will be the opposite eye of his own and then they can eventually become friends and sit next to each other and look out for each other. You know, like those crazy eels on The Little Mermaid?

We once had an old, male, fixed cat (though of a mellower temperament) take a new kitten under his paw, he even smuggled a mouse into the house and tried to show her how to catch it! Hopefully Schubert feels the same towards The Boggart (though I'm sure The Boggart will have to admit that Schubert is boss, first).

Now that is a line and a half.

That kitten looks bigger already. BOTH of those lousy animals need to tread carefully and recognize they're getting in on a massively good thing which no animal can properly deserve.
