Questions That Kept Me Awake Last Night

1) What does TWEE mean? Is it a good word or not a good word? In short, is it TWEE to use the word TWEE?

2) In the Jude Law version of Alfie, after Alfie HAND PICKS THE ROSES, who does he give them to? What happens after that? Anything? Because I couldn't watch any more of it, even though Jude Law is scrutiating fetching.

3) IS ANYONE prettier that Jude Law? Well, other than Johnny Depp, but I suspect he is supernatural. Has any NON-SUPERNATURAL human in the history of the UNIVERSE ever been prettier than Jude Law? Discuss.

4) WHEN will the reality TV trend be over? I cannot help but feel NATURAL END to this MADNESS will be putting people in an arena purportedly to have public sex, and then once they are good and distracted, SURPRISE! The producers release lions which kill and eat them. And I can't imagine I would find that more embarrassing to watch than AVERAGE JOE II, HAWAII.

Bwahahahahahahaha! Well, we do refer to Romans as civilized, don't we?

1) My first thought was, shouldn't that be followed by -dledee or -dledum? Second thought was, I would have to talk like Bugs Bunny in order to use that word in context without cracking myself up.

2) No clue. But did you catch him in I Heart Huckabees?

3) Jude Law is definitely prettier than Johnny Depp in Willy Wonka, where he looks like a cross between Miss Jane Hathaway and Edith Head.

4) It's like the whole trend of making movies out of movies that already exist. Amityville Horror? The Longest Yard? Let's have an original thought and some good storytelling, hey? (But don't take away American Idol. Yet.)

1)twee: excessively cute; corny

2) never seen it!

3) Cary Grant. But since he's, you know...dead and everything, he's not currently much competition for Mr. Law

4) I'm waiting to hear that Rob and Amber are going to have a baby live on TV

1) Glad your commenter clarified that one...I've been feeling clueless...
2) Never saw it...have an innate resistance to films that should have just been left alone in their original version...
3) Not feelin' the Jude Law vibe...but then blondes don't do it for me... (Good lord, if Johnny Depp looks weirder in Willy Wonka than he did in Finding Neverland then I might be slipping off that wagon...)
4) What does it say about me that about the only reality series I can sort of watch is The Surreal Life? I get enormous satisfaction in watching has-been celebrities take the express train from the B to the C list...

Just finished the book! Loved it!

1) Always assumed it was a cross between tiny and squee, squee (of course) being a cross between scrumptious, cute, and wee. So it's redundant. What do you want from a made-up word?

2) You saw Alfie? I saw Muppets Wizard of Oz. I'm not allowed to watch grown-up films anymore. *sob*

3) Your question presupposes that HE himself is not unnatural, and I'm not sure I agree. I will need to make out with him extensively to determine.

4) Love your idea. Seriously, if I wanted to turn on the television and watch people eat bugs, I would... ummm... have children... oh... nevermind.

5) You are pretty and it is FREEZING here today and THEREFORE I shall wear BOTH the SWEATER OF LOVELINESS and the AUBERGINE PUMPS to church.

6) No, that didn't have anything to do with your questions. Just thought you'd like to know.

re: #4 - ooh, pitch that one! I'm a Reality TV fan. For the ones that are cool, of course ;) I'll be the first to start the petition and striking for NO MORE ROB AND AMBUH!

1. I think you must be British, or at least speak with a British accent, to use the word TWEE and not come off sounding like a complete idiot. Not that I have any idea what it means.

2. I have not see Alfie.

3. No one is prettier than Judy Law. Oops.

4. I don't have TV, because it is stupid. Reality TV is even more stupid than the TV we used to have before I cut the cable (with scissors, actually). I like the lion idea--Prey or Predator, which are you?

I hope I can still qualify as a J.J. fan after I reveal that I think Orlando Bloom is prettier than Jude Law which is mighty pretty indeed. And I'm way older than you which makes me a dirty old lady. In my generation I slather for HARRISON FORD HARRISON FORD HARRISON FORD oh, and STING. Sting Sting Sting with his four thousand dollar Italian suits and his love for his wife and his, well, Stingness.

1) Don't know what it means. I want to think it is short for 'tween' which is short for 'between'. ?????????
2) Didn't see the movie
3) Jude Law doesn't do it for me either. . . but I haven't seen Cold Mountain, which I've heard may change my mind, but the book just DID ME IN and I can't live through the PAIN again. I find Keanu hot, hot, hot (although he might be stupid, stupid, stupid) and in the dirty old lady category I'd have to say Heath Ledger is a hotty - A Knight's Tale? OMG!
4) I LOVE (some) REALITY TELEVISION - Survivor, Amazing Race, Idol and Apprentice. How pathetic, right? I just love 'the game'.

PS - Finished your book last night. Fun and interesting read. Can't wait to see more!

Posted by: AGK at May 23, 2005 5:21 AM

Ooooh, Jilly! I thought of Harrison Ford, too. And, I am SO ashamed to admit - Keanu Reeves. I know, I KNOW he can't act. But oh. So pretty.
:-) Jude Law is close to the top of the list, though, I agree.
Joshilyn - wanted to tell you I am on the waiting list at my library for your book. (Too poor to purchase right now, I'm afraid. But how cool for you that there's a waiting list??) I absolutely can't wait to read it.
Happy Monday, everyone.

1. I believe I would need to understand the context in order to form an opinion. If, as I suspect, it is a word commonly used by Maisy...then it's all good.
2.Haven't seen it. Too busy listening to the play-by-play on SITH.
3. Jude Law is mighty pretty, sure. But there is such a thing in the world as Taye Diggs. And HIS prettiness should be celebrated in verse and song. And Parades. LOTS of parades.
4.Reality TV has Satan laughing with glee in hell, I'm sure of it.I'm sticking with LOST.
5.You're pretty! :)

1) Never heard the word before

2) He gave the roses to Susan S. who in turn dump Alfie for an even younger man. Basically the movie ends with Alfie being all alone because he hurt them in one way or another.

3) Love Jude Law! Hugh Jackman rates higher in my book then Jude Law but I'd take either!

4) The sooner the better! I hate reality TV!
