Comments: Yelling Hello as I Dash By on the Way to TV in Tuscaloosa

Equal scoops of ice cream and dog poo, eh?

You have such a way with words. Also, you're pretty!

Compliments of the mid-morning munchies, I'm putting together a pot luck menu. Here's how it stands so far:
Kira: Risotto
Joshilyn: Ice cream
Stephenie : Godiva truffels
Nice, huh? I know it's a little heavy on the desert end, but hey, is that really a BAD thing?

Posted by David at July 15, 2005 10:07 AM poo...okay. So, Joshilyn, have you checked out the latest customer reviews at Amazon? They practically made me CRY....perfect strangers to you writing these marvelous things about gods....turned me into Vicarious Joshilyn for a moment there. Topic for you to write about: Why is "pants" such a funny word?

While I have both your blog and gods linked on my side bar, nobody that I know of reads my blog...

Argh! I am of the great unblogged.

For those of you who are writers, and do not get Wednesday Links, well my blog might interest you. It is a weekly array of links for writers. But if you're looking for witty retorts, paralysingly cunning - must read every morning or go blind blogging and newts...

STAY HERE ... Go read Mir ... anyone but mine.

hmmmmmm Godiva Truffles, I never have had one, didn't know the existed, but now that I do I will not rest until I get one and let it melt amongst my adoring taste buds.

I need it ZuZu is at the doctors. My husband is mad because I changed ZuZu's fuel filter (I did so in hopes I could get her to the doc.) It's not like it was difficult to do after I was armed with the right tools and the phone number of a good mechanic.

I have now found my large butt has two spots that are not fat, unfortunately it is where the unforgivingly hard bicycle seat hits between my legs. Thank you lord I only live a mile from work.

1.) I put up a link to gods on my sidebar because it is just too good. As Ben Franklin said: "We must all hang together, or we shall surely all hang separately."

2.) MMMM...Godiva anything!

3.) Oh, and by the way, nobody and nothing makes me LOOK fat. I AM fat! So there! :-p

I had your book on my sidebar when I was reading. I gave it an A+ BTW :) Excellent novel and will definitely be in my top ten this year. I have the link to your blog there now and I read you religiously because you are just fabulous! Thank you for being you and I'm glad Maisy (and your sanity) are well!

I had gods on my sidebar when I was reading it and would still have it up if I could figure out how to get allconsuming to stick a pretty pic of the book cover on my sidebar instead of a boring text hyperlink - argle bargle! But Faster Than Kudzu has always been and will always be there, currently right between Eyes For Lies and Fibermania.

Someone posted a day or two ago that they were running straight to the library to get a copy of your book, and I had to restrain myself from writing, I am going straight to AMAZON to ***BUY*** a copy of your book.

And then I'll post a link and exhort people to go do likewise.

Gods was up at my old blog. It even had a picture of the cover.

This seems like as good a place and time as any to tell you that I LOVE gods in Alabama and I WILL be putting it on my blog when I update next ... I had so much more to say but your comment feature keeps rejecting my comments because of "questionable content" and I have no idea what that could be, I didn't use any rude words at all.

::blushing:: ok I did say that I got the book at the library, but I dutifully repented and bought it tonight while waiting to pick up my copy of Harry Potter ;)

I totally understand not being able to fully enjoy the "good stuff" in life because you're afraid you're going to be punished. I've been saving "gods in Alabama" (which hasn't been easy, let me tell you) because I'm moving at the end of July & I want something good to read those evenings I'm camped out in a bubblebath letting the achy muscles recuperate from the unpacking.

Sorry for the comment blocking. We here at Faster Than Kudzu work hard to ensure every commenter has an enjoyable commenting experience and apologize for any inconvenience you were caused. We will email you a cupon for 10 free comments as our way of saying "sorry".

OK, seriously, we probably blocked more than just you. We get hit with several hundred spam each day here. You will notice, however, that you almost never see them in the comments. We have very aggressive anti-spam software (God bless you Jay Allen and MT-Blacklist!) that catches it before it makes press.

When adding new words and phrases we accidentally added "Texas" and "online" to the list of unacceptable phrases. The end result was that anyone who referenced the Lone Star State, or say, the internet, was blocked. We've since pulled those phrases out of the database and hopefully that will avoid any more unwarrented comment blocking.

If anyone does find comments being blocked just drop me an email at and I'll look into it.

And now back to your regularly scheduled comments...

As soon as you come to Asheville to do a book signing, I will buy your book, read it, and post it in my sidebar for five times as long as it takes me to read it. Deal?

Thanks for a great author event - so glad you enjoyed it too! TONS of people have emailed and called to say how fab you were and when were you coming back so they could get their moms/sisters/bookclubs/bestfriends/neighbors to come hear you and read the book. I told them to go ahead and get them to read the book and then read Between when it comes out and MAYBE we can get you back sometime then. Lovely stuff...

BTW, a quick "comments" comment - whereas one should ALWAYS support their favorite authors especially ones with the initials JJ, one should also remember to support their local public library as well :). Book stores are great, but libraries are the cornerstones of civilization, the keepers of the culture, the big glass of wine with the Godiva truffles. Of course, I'm biased, but libraries & librarians can be credited for instigating the grassroots campaigns for so many of the wonderful authors and their books. We depend on your support too!
