Comments: Remit with Toe Scrubbing

Aw, just when I was feeling better in having a fellow grinch-hearted poopy-head to commiserate with. ;-)

I didn't feel you were hateful yesterday. In fact, I felt you were refreshingly honest, and I enjoyed it.

P.S. I also do not like songs. I think it is because I have so much other stuff to remember, I don't want to fill my head up with lyrics/tunes/names of singers. I do not even know major artists that apparently everyone else does. My sister is always shaking her head at this, but it works for me.

I too, enjoyed your honesty yesterday and did not interpret it as hateful. In fact, I wonder if today's post is honest. It feels sugarcoated to me. JMHO.

No apologies needed -- you're charming even when your Grinch-ish.

Well, the nice thing about dreading an event, as opposed to eagerly anticipating it, is that it is nearly always nicer than expected.

Unless it lasts 8 hours in a humid, un-air conditioned auditorium, which definitely gets one time off in Hell.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the adorableness of the other children, always understanding that yours are the BEST.

Well I'm very glad you ended up having a good time!

There, there *virtually pets hair* when husbands travel, mothers are allowed to spew grinchiness about school plays, piano recitals, excessive homework, stupid basketball practice that doesn't start until 8 PM ON A SCHOOL NIGHT, and anything else they have to drag themselves and their children to, or through. When you are up all night worrying over which child you will grab first when there is a fire/burglar/earthquake/fill in favorite emergency scenario, or you are shivering in your ice cold bed because your own personal living, breathing heater is missing, or you are up playing pathwords on Facebook because your extra special hubby who loves you and worries about you isn't there to say, "For the love of Pete woman, it's 12 am! Get thee in bed!" you cannot be expected to be all happy, gentle mother in the daytime. Of this I am sure. Or at least I am counting on it, since I'm going on week four (out of the last five) without my hubby.

YOU are not a poop....

Oh puh-LEASE Laura F! If I had had a bad time I would have told you. And added in hyperbolic crocodiles gnawing at my feet from beneath the cold hard recital chairs for good measure.

I have been to music recitals before that made me want to hang myself. This one---sorry to disappoint, but it was super cute and fun. Part of it was that we had a delicious lasagna dinner before, and I got to eat it with Julie, one of my closest friends that I NEVER get to see enough. Part was the kids were mostly young and all DRESSED UP in red velvet poufy finery and playing familiar carols. It did not hurt that the music portion of the night started at 7:40 and was over by 8:12.

If all recitals were like this one? Everyone would like 'em, even grinches. It was grand.

I adore you. And you are certainly not a poop.

Yes, most people underestimate the charm of brevity. And poufy red velvet finery. I am convinced that many people would be more adorable if they had prettier clothes.

I know I would!

I too have days where the last thing I want to deal with is another child that isn't my own... and I am a teacher. Relax - this was not more terrible than googling dead presidents and rating their hotness :)

OH PUH-LEEZE. If you can't vent to your virtual friends then who in the world can you vent to. Besides, it's not like each and every one of us hasn't been in the exact same place.
